High school student-athletes need a resource to help them learn, grow, and thrive in life after high school, whether they go to college or straight into a career. As an Oakland-based nonprofit organization, SPAAT's mission is to transform young lives and create positive change in their community through providing support, funding, and resources.
Challenge
Rebuild SPAAT's online presence to define meaning, scale quickly, and build community. SPAAT is doing incredible and meaningful work in their community, but no one knows about it. SPAAT's outdated text-heavy website design was no longer appealing to prospective students and visitors had difficulty finding important information or learning about their offerings or community impact. It was time for a more modern visual appeal and to organize their content in a more effective way to both educate their visitors on their programs and empower students to enroll.
Solution
Before the redesign, SPAAT’s website was outdated, text-heavy, and missing engaging content. The home page redesign elevated their visual design language, giving them a sophisticated brand that matches the valuable work they do in their Oakland, CA community. A content strategy identified key opportunities in messaging and visuals to tell the SPAAT story. The redesigned website uses on-brand photos and copywriting with CTAs on how to get involved. Visitors now clearly understand the scope of the initiatives SPAAT supports and their community impact.
